Keep your hands off my pussy!

7 07 2008

I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned lately that with the improved weather my cat Mulder has been spending a lot of time outside.  Generally I’m not a huge fan of him being out the front of the house, but since he’s been ill (kidney disease), I’ve been a little more lenient with him.

Although, I have caught him crossing the road recently.  Fortunately we live on a quiet street, and just the other day he was lying in the gutter sunning himself.  The cat apparently has a death wish.

However, he always comes home throughout the day for a snack, the evening for dinner, and home at night to crawl into bed for us.

So you can imagine my surprise when the phone rang this afternoon, and I was asked if I owned a cat named Mulder.  I instantly thought he’d been injured and someone was calling me.  Instead I heard the following:

Is he lost?”

Of course I replied that he wasn’t.  As it turns out, he’s been going across the road to the home of the lady phoning me.  She already has 4 cats, and Mulder has apparently been wandering into her house, and sitting outside the door all day.  Apparently in my mind, he’s trying to muscle in on the feeding routine over there since he’s on a strict diet here.

Little bugger!

She and her son then carried him back across the road, where I apologised profusely and explained that he’s “Very social”.  I also mentioned that he’s on a strict diet, and if she could make sure he either doesn’t get near her cat’s food, or that she shoes him away.  Hell, if she throws a bucket of water on him, I won’t mind.  It’ll certainly deter him.

Damn cat!  The vet bills cost a fortune, he’s on a special diet, and he’s started out-sourcing for additional meals.  Something he used to do back in Australia, and I’d hoped he’d given up on.

Oh well, seems he hasn’t.

He really is a social kitty!

Ok, I’m outta here.  Enjoy!

Double entendre and ambiguity are my aim!

… and I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t thought it through as far as a small social experiment on the effect of headlining on readership statistics. 😉
