Ace as in great, or brilliant or fantastic. It was pretty awesome.
After a bit of a slow start to the day we headed out West, back to Bacchus Marsh where we used to live, and I used to work. We drove past the old house, which was beautiful while we had it, and still is under the kitsch and filth of the current owners. Cretins! I did hear that they’re possibly going to be moving out of the state soon, to Queensland. Coincidently, the same place the owners that we bought it off moved to. We could buy it back! We could, but we won’t. I loved it, but it’s not mine anymore, nor will it ever be again. They’ve fouled it for me.
That little bit of unhappiness aside I got to catch up with my old friends and colleagues of Moorabool Shire for a coffee and a chin wag, and realised just how much I missed them, and missed working, and that MISS is pretty damn big I can assure you. It was great to catch up with them all, if only briefly, and sad to have to leave.
I’ll be back! I will, it’s a promise, and a threat!
Of course after all of that it was time to head back to Melbourne, which we did using the new Deer Park Bypass, a fantastic piece of road that really should have been built decades ago, or primarily when I used to commute to the other side of the city each day for work. It only opened over the past weekend, but certainly makes a difference. Deer Park isn’t such a loss to my drive, even though I have relatives who live there… *laugh*
To cap the day off, Mark, Sanda and I all met for dinner at a great little restaurant at Federation Square called Taxi, where we dined on fantastic nibblies and drank great wine before heading to the Forum Theatre to see Judith Lucy perform as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Great food, great company, great wine, great entertainment… GREAT! Ohhhh, and I got a lovely pair of Oroton cufflinks as a belated birthday present from Sanda, and I love them. One could say they were GREAT too! ;) Thanks Sanda!
Now it’s bedtime, cuz I’m all tuckered out.
G’night! 🙂
