A New Day in a New Decade

1 01 2010

The day started off nice and gently this morning.  Aside from being tired from a late night, and waking up with the start of a cold (grrr!), we were both fine, as neither of us really drank last night.  2 mouthfuls of red wine, a glass of Moet to see the New Year in and a Jack and Coke…   Over the space of 6 hours, and interspersed with lots of water, and a non-alcoholic champagne, that incidentally, we bought, and will probably buy again as it was pretty good.

Otherwise the evening was great, over the space of 8 hours we managed to catch up with a pile of friends over three different locations, and I also managed to purchase a new pair of glasses frames and a replacement bottle of my favourite cologne.

Good fun!

As for today.  Well I was supposed to do jump into Lake Samammish today as part of an annual Polar Plunge, but my friend Lisa who’s friends were organising the event, was shall we say, a little under the weather from her evenings festivities, so we’ve rescheduled for later in the week.

I’m still not sure of the wisdom in my agreeing to jump in the lake, but we’ll see how it all pans out.  All I know is it’s going to be cold, and cold enough to hurt.  Hehe!  A brisk start to the new year.

Ok, must run, it’s time to watch the latest installment in Dr Who, The End of Time, Part 2.

Goodnight, and Happy New Year to you!
