Not that I don’t have enough drugs (legal prescription ones of course) in my life, today has also seen me add some painkillers to the pile.
It’s a wonder I don’t rattle when I walk.
The morning started quietly enough, but amped up rapidly once I left the house for a morning of Orthodenture and Dentistry.
First stop was the Orthodontist to have my wires (I have braces) removed, then across the road to the Dentist for an hour of cleaning. Don’t get me wrong, I look forward to having my teeth cleaned, that’s the easy part.
The unpleasantness started once the cleaning was over and I had to return to the Orthodontist to have the wires replaced. Not just replaced, today also required that I have my wires adjusted to reposition my teeth further.
That’s the part that hurts. Primarily because my bottom middle front tooth is crooked, and rotated. This adjustment required that it manually be twisted and then the bracket wire tied to my braces wire to hold it in place. Good fun.
It was uncomfortable as it happened, but now, a few hours later is when the tenderness has really kicked in, and will last for at least a week as my teeth all move to accomodate the adjustment. Beauty is pain, and my smile had better be bloody gorgeous at the end of all this! 😉
